PART 2 of a 2 Part blog for Kingston University, expressing everything of design interest that I discover or want to share. From artists that inspire me to other blogs that I feel are engaging and events I have been to, this will be practically my design diary. Personal Inspirations - Jared Nickerson.

For a few months now I have been following Jared Nickerson's work also know as "JThreeConcepts", and I really love his style of illustration/graphical work. Much like Iain Mcarthur, his work is very surreal based but in a much different way, seeing as this is a lot more vectorised and graphical. He will literally throw anything into the mix when it comes to his projects like for example this piece above. As you can see there are, diamonds, axe's, guns, jewels, octopus tentacles?! Its all so random, yet perfectly composed and it actually works really well.

This is probably one of my favourite pieces and most iconic artworks he has produced in my opinion. The amount of variation and creativity in this is mind blowing, for a start - you don't really know where to look for a beginning point - which is something I think is great. "No beginning, middle or end". The colours all match up to the character he is trying to portrait and they all link in well; even if he has used every colour in the wheel but still its a great little project with some very nifty and iconic designs in.

He has work with some big name companies in his time producing work for their advertisements and new products, this is just a short list of his 'Main' clients JThree has worked for;

  • Nike
  • Adidas
  • Facebook
  • Coca-Cola
  • V-Festival
  • Virgin
  • Microsoft
  • Neff
  • Smart Car
  • Ubisoft
  • Activision
  • Nintendo
